29 November 2017

To our friends and supporters,
It's with great reluctance that the Yothu Yindi Foundation (YYF) announces an increase to ticket prices for Garma 2018.

This will be the first such increase in five years, with ticket prices having remained unchanged since 2013.

Unfortunately, the costs of delivering a high-end event in this remote part of Australia have risen substantially in recent years and YYF can no longer absorb these without cutting content from the Garma program.   The cost of catering over four days, for example, has increase by more than 50 per cent in the past five years.

YYF is proud of the programing additions we've introduced in recent years, and we remain committed to providing innovative and engaging content in the future.

We will also continue to support the many Yolngu people and organisations who deliver key components of Garma, and it's important that their remuneration properly reflects the values of their contribution to what is a truly unique event.   YYF is a not-for-profit organisation and all of our revenue is invested back into Arnhem Land communities.

We are grateful for the ongoing support of our sponsors and friends, and for the generous support from government which makes the event happen, and we trust you will continue to support us in the important work we do through Garma 2018.   Please ensure you have checked on all deadlines for registering and any cancellation policies in place applicable to next year.

As in previous years, ticket prices for Garma 2018 will include all meals, accommodation and transfers to / from the airport.

The new pricing schedule will be publicly available next week, and can be accessed on our website

We look forward to hosting you at Gulkula in August 2018 for the 20th anniversary of Garma.
