Volunteering at Garma is no small project. Our volunteers make a significant contribution to the build, operation and spirit of the Garma Festival. You will work along side our highly skilled and motivated site crew, bringing the grounds of Gulkula to life. You must have a willingness to work hard, be a team player and 'go that extra mile' when necessary! Garma is a festival like no other. A unique experience that will live with you forever.

For two weeks you will camp out, share meals with new friends, build relationships, build a festival and accomplish something truly life changing for the Yolngu people of north-east Arnhem Land and for yourself.

You are the change you want to see in Australia. A fair and equal Australia is achievable and Garma is the spearhead to effect that change. 

You will have opportunity during the festival to participate in program activities, we have structured your work days to bring balance to your volunteer experience.

Volunteering at Garma is a 14 day commitment, commencing 24th July - 7th August, with the following roles are up for grabs:

  • Site crew
  • Catering 
  • VIP & Corporate Liaison assistant
  • Functions assistant
  • Gapan Gallery
  • Cultural Activities
  • Concierge Assistant
  • Ticketing & Registration 
  • Transport drivers (C Class and LV)
  • Darwin/Garma administration assistant (Darwin applicants only)
